David Williams – Foto Clocks

I’ve been taking photos for as long as I can remember.

My Dad was a silk spinner in Lancashire and ran a works Photographic Club which I used to attend. We had a dark room under the stairs in our house and I used to marvel (under the red safety lights) at the way images would magically appear in on a sheet of seemingly blank paper in a tray of chemical!

Nowadays, I use a Canon 5DS and use Photoshop on an iMac.

Although I take and process pictures for pleasure, I use some of my images to make clocks (fotoclocks) which I sell at craft fairs and other outlets.

I print the pictures onto fotopaper, cut them out with a circle cutter and glue them onto the backing which is either a CD for small clocks or a circle of MDF which I turn from a large sheet of MDF. Then I put a clock mechanism through a hole which I drill through the middle of the circle.

I am very keen on nature and my favourite images are of animals, flowers and birds which have proved very popular.

My email address is: dnw_foto@btinternet.com if you wish to contact me.

Incidentally, each clock comes in a handmade box – also made by me!
